Bring Your Story to the Creative Works Exhibition

As the Creative Works on European Integration exhibition approaches, we invite you not only to attend, but also to become part of the conversation. On 20 February 2026 at Toplocentrala CCA in Sofia, the EU Journeys project will open a participatory space where stories, memories, and reflections on Europe can be shared alongside the creative works on display.

What does Europe mean in your life?

European integration is often discussed through institutions, treaties, and policies, but it is equally a story of people. It is reflected in opportunities to study, travel, work, collaborate, remember, and imagine a shared future. This exhibition invites visitors to think about those lived experiences and to connect them with the broader European journey.

We encourage participants to bring their own perspectives to the event:

  • a memory connected to Europe or cross-border exchange;
  • a personal testimony about mobility, opportunity, or belonging;
  • a reflection on peace, democracy, solidarity, or citizenship;
  • a story about how European integration has touched everyday life.

An exhibition that invites participation

The Creative Works exhibition has been conceived as a civic and creative environment for dialogue. The works on display explore historical roots, key European ideas, contemporary tensions, and future-oriented visions of Europe. Your voice belongs in that conversation. By sharing experiences and reflections during the event, visitors help turn the exhibition into a living space of exchange between generations and viewpoints.

Join us and share your journey

We warmly welcome citizens, young people, educators, researchers, civil society actors, and all interested members of the public to join the exhibition and contribute to the dialogue. Come ready to explore, reflect, discuss, and share.

Together, we can continue building a richer picture of Europe through individual testimony, creative expression, and respectful dialogue.

What the exhibition is about

Part of the broader project EU Journeys: Uniting Stories of European Integration, the exhibition brings together creative interpretations of Europe’s past, present, and future. It highlights stories of integration, remembrance, citizenship, solidarity, and democratic participation, while encouraging audiences to reflect on the milestones, rights, and opportunities that have transformed life across the continent.

The curated selection includes works inspired by:

  • the historical roots and ideals behind European unity;
  • personal stories and testimonies connected to European integration;
  • utopian and cautionary visions of Europe’s future;
  • key European ideas and figures, including Jean Monnet and the evolving meaning of cooperation.

Why this event matters

The exhibition is designed as more than a display of artworks. It is a meeting point for memory, dialogue, and participation. By bringing creative works into conversation with lived experience, the event encourages visitors to think about how European integration has influenced education, mobility, citizenship, cooperation, and belonging.
